Overview of Levels

Each Language has a certain number of levels that are in progression from basics to advanced.

Basic Course Plan for Adults

Four language skills are assessed at each level: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

Crash Course

Along with full term courses , we also offer crash courses for all languages to enable you to get an overview of the language and also to understand the language along with your love for it in a better way before taking the big plunge . Crash courses are usually termed at 10-15 hours which are enough to give you an insight to the language and the country’s culture.

Customised Course

Each person has a different reason to study languages. Some study it as a hobby , for immigration, as travellers, for their jobs , studying abroad, etc. Keeping in mind all the requirements, we also customise courses depending upon your need and area of focus. The duration and fees vary depending upon the requirements and the course is planned accordingly.

Academic Course

We also offer tuitions for academic courses for 11th & 12th standard and also to school students for all boards all standards.

Elementary Use of Language

HSK 1

Can understand and use familiar Chinese everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type.

Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has.

Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

HSK 2

Can understand sentences and frequently used Chinese expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).

Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters.

Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

Independent Language Use

 

HSK 3

Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc.

Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken.

Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest.

Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

HSK 4

Can understand the main ideas of complex Chinese text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation.

Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party.

Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Autonomous Language Ability

HSK 5

Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer mandarin texts, and recognise implicit meaning.

Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions.

Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.

Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.

HSK 6 

Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read.

Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources of Chinese language, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation.

Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.

Course Plan for Kids

At the end of each level a certificate proving the proficiency of the student shall be handed over to the student by The Language Academy. Also at the end of each level the student shall be eligible to appear for the International Exam HSK whose certificate shall be accepted worldwide. HSK is the short form for Hanyu (Chinese) Shuiping (Level) Kaoshi (test). The Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) meaning “Mandarin Level Test” or “Chinese Level Test.” It is an international standardized test to assess the Chinese-language proficiency of non-native speakers and also for Chinese people living overseas and Chinese national minorities.

It is organized by Hanban (汉办) the part of the Chinese education ministry also in charge of the Confucius Institute (孔子学院). The test measures your proficiency through listening, writing, and reading in the language. HSK tests are held across the world regularly. Candidates who pass the test are awarded the appropriate level of Chinese Proficiency Certificate.

Certification

Youth Chinese Test (YCT), is one more test of Chinese language proficiency, assesses the Mandarin proficiency for school-going children. YCT is divided into writing and speaking tests, which are independent of each other.

The writing test consists of four levels, YCT (level I), YCT (level II), YCT (level III), and YCT (level IV). The speaking test comprises two levels, YCT Speaking (Primary Level) and YCT Speaking (Intermediate Level).

Being young is the best time to learn Mandarin. It’s that simple!

It does not matter if it is as a young child or teenager, the younger they are the better they learn languages.

A child will pick up tones much faster than an adult and reach Chinese language fluency significantly faster.

Certification Validity

The certificates you will obtain from HSK are valid for a lifetime. However, in most cases, it will be valid for two years as the certification for international students to enter a college or university in China.
